Product Description:

DKey is a disambiguation system that has a (number pad) keyboard as its input method. It works in a similar way to 'predictive text' on a mobile phone and is designed to allow quicker text input for people with physical disabilities.

Main Features:

  • It can be used with mouse input, or with switch input via other software.
  • It speaks the letters and suggested words as text is entered.
  • When text is accepted it can be pasted into the window with focus as if it had been entered directly with the keyboard.
  • It is possible to keep the text in the DKey window, in which case it may also be printed.
  • Settings are accessed using the mouse pointer.
  • Speech is provided using the current Windows Speech voice.
  • Windows XP and Vista each come with a sample voice already installed and others can be obtained (look for SAPI 5 voices).
  • It uses the Tapir disambiguation engine to generate the suggestion list and to disambiguate the current input.
  • Customizable dictionary and ability to create a user dictionary.
  • Resizable window with 'memory' of last size and position on startup.
  • SAPI enunciation of the currently disambiguated (top) word.
  • Input from a standard keyboard - with user-definable keys/layout. Default to the number pad keyboard and 9 keys.
  • Customizable font and colors.
  • Separate input screen (keyboard), prediction screen, text window, settings and make each optionally displayable.
  • Output to a window with focus or in DKey's own window.
  • Print text in DKey window.
