Product Description:

With DL Tag It, blind people can search for and identify objects. The system for marking objects is based on RFID technology (Radio Frequency Identification) and identifies objects that are equipped with RFID chips or tags or transponders.

Main Features:

  • The information is output by computer, PDA or other end devices. Blind people receive them via speech or Braille display; visually impaired people can also use a screen enlargement.
  • In its mobile version, DL Tag It enables users to move freely around rooms and to find stored objects. It is designed as a modular system that is adapted to specific professional circumstances.
  • DL Tag It works with approx. 15 RFID readers that run on various PDAs and the Pronto from Baum. It also integrates various devices such as the MileStone 312 SpeakOut from Bones.
  • Multifunctional search function: The search function of DL Tag It saves blind people a lot of time. Tag It realizes what sighted people do with the help of pattern recognition using the search function. A full-text search function is available to users for this. It enables the objects to be described in detail on the computer and later to be found using the descriptions. A successful search can also be displayed with a sound.
  • Whether briefly described or described in detail, the desired information can be called up at any time through the variable configuration of DL Tag It. The output takes place via Braille display or audio file, whereby a recording or any mp3 file can be played. DL Tag It automatically recognizes new objects and tags and offers a new entry.
  • DL Tag It enables users to electronically manage all tagged items in categories and subcategories. This selective method simplifies the search and allows a wide range of uses - from searching for individual items or items of clothing to sorting out food or medication by expiration date.
  • Tag IDs are managed in tables or databases. Objects of the same category can be identified via the collection mode by reading out the objects found or by displaying them visually on a list.
  • If a tag is recognized, DL Tag It in connection with DL EasyTask accesses any external application. For example, a book text can be directly linked to a suitable scanned text, the appropriate operating instructions can be called up for an item, and much more.
  • DL Tag It can use several people in the household or office at the same time, which creates new forms of cooperation between blind and sighted people. For example, work orders can be placed electronically by adding spoken information to an object, which is transmitted to blind people via the RFID reader.
