Makes Speech and Sounds Easier to Hear

Two medium-sized curved, rectangular devices. Each has a flat, yellow, and textured square on top that the user presses to activate the device.

Univox Dls-50 Domestic Loop System

The UniVox DLS-50 Domestic Loop System is a loop amplification system designed for use by individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. By enabling a hearing aid equipped with a telecoil (or t-coil) to function as an in-the-ear loudspeaker, this home loop system helps the user to hear television, radio, telephone, and voices despite ambient noise. The system has a small, thin amplifier, accompanied by a thin Loop Pad that slips under a chair, and/or a long wire loop that covers up to 600 square feet.

A black square with a cut-out at the top, similar to that of a clipboard, with the universal "hearing-impaired" symbol in the center.

The full range of components, including two speakers, a gooseneck microphone, and various other components, which are all black in color.

An intercom and loop amplification system designed for use by individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing and who use hearing aids with telecoils (t-coils).

Slightly-curved, rectangular box with four input jacks for headphones at each corner. In the center, there is a raised portion with a fifth kind of input jack. The device is blue in color.

Connection hub for up to four sets of headphones, designed for use as a classroom listening center, ELD/ELL/Title 3/special education applications, as well as language labs and call center training.

Various models of captioned telephones. They resemble standard corded telephone sets, but with a medium-to-large sized screen that displays captions. Three of the models' screens are color LCD, while one is not color and does not have backlighting. Three phones are white with black buttons; one is black with no buttons, but a large touchscreen menu.

Telephone with built-in screen that displays real-time closed captioning.

Various models of TV headsets. Two resemble standard on-ear headphones, with one of them having rectangular ear pads instead of round ones. The other two models look like earbuds connected to a band, but instead of wearing the band across the top of the head (like a headband), the set is worn upside-down, like a doctor's stethoscope. Two models are pictured with small, separate transmitters. One model is white with a black band; the rest are black.

TV headsets are assistive listening devices that allow wearers to more easily hear a TV's audio without increasing the volume or disturbing others around them. Some models can also double as personal amplifier systems—hit "pause," and the built-in microphone can switch to amplifying persons speaking and other ambient noise in your immediate environment.

Various models of bone conduction headphones. They resemble "sports-style" earbuds, except that there are no actual components that go inside the ear. They fit over the top of the ear and are either connected by a band that wraps around the back of the head, or they are two separate components with no connecting band. One image shows a side profile view of a young woman wearing one (without a connecting band). All models shown are black.

Bone conduction headphones transmit sound through a wearer's cheekbones and allow wearers to hear what's going on in their surroundings while also listening to music or taking a phone call.

Various models of Bluetooth headsets. Three are one-piece designs that wrap or clip around the top of the ear. There is a small-sized component located over the wearer's ear, which features the menu buttons, speaker, and microphone. One model has two earpieces, which are round and more resemble standard, small-sized headphones. Three models are black; the two-piece model is silver and black.

Headsets allow users to answer and take calls without having to answer on their mobile device itself.
