Mouse Locator (Generic)

This is not a page for a specific "Mouse Locator". It is a placeholder for the many Mouse Locator that are out on the market. Because there are so many of them, and they are easy to find by doing an internet search, we do not attempt to include them in our database. See the More Information section for suggested search terms to use.

Product Description:

The mouse pointer can often be difficult to see on a device display, especially for users with low vision. To temporarily magnify the mouse pointer or make it more easy to locate on screen, most modern operating systems have some form of mouse locator.

To activate the Mouse Locator in Windows 10:

Navigate to the Mouse controls: Settings> Mouse. Click "Additional mouse options" in the upper right corner. In the Mouse Properties Control Panel, click the Pointer Options tab. Click the checkbox "Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key". This will cause a circle to appear around the tip of the mouse pointer, which quickly shrinks to the hot spot of the pointer when the control key is pressed and released.

To activate the Mouse Locator in Chrome OS:

Open the Accessibility Settings: Settings> Advanced> Manage Accessibility Features. Scroll down to Mouse and touchpad. Click the toggle ON next to Highlight the mouse cursor when it's moving. This will place a circle around the mouse pointer while the mouse is moving.

To activate the Mouse Locator in Mac OS:

Open the System Preferences and then click on Accessibility. In the Accessibility panel, make sure you click on “Display” and then you will see the option near the bottom “Shake mouse pointer to locate”. Check the box next to this option and the feature will be enabled. This will cause the pointer to expand for easier visibility when the mouse is shaken on the desktop.
