For some users with disabilities, the effort to type long words can be a barrier. This is also true of those with low literacy, for whom spelling can be a challenge. Some operating systems feature "word completion" that, when activated, auto-completes the word currently being typed. The auto-completion typically produces 3 words for the user to choose from.

To activate word completion in Mac:
Begin typing a word in an application that uses macOS input processes. Press the F5 key. A list of completions to the word will appear. Click on the desired word.
To activate word completion in Windows 10:
For hardware keyboards: Click on Devices > Typing. Go to the Hardware keyboard section. Toggle the Show text suggestions as I type to the On position.
For software keyboards: Go to the Software keyboard section and toggle to enable, as well.
For iOS and Android devices:
Auto-complete is enabled by default.
