Intellitalk is a voice output word processor program designed for children and adults with cognitive and/or visual disabilities.

Main Features: 

  • The software offers menus and enables users to hear letters, words, and sentences as they type, or to have the text read back from the screen.
  • It offers a choice of a variety of voices and pronunciation can be modified using the built-in pronunciation editor.
  • It can correctly pronounce the most common words that children learn in addition to common names and foreign words.
  • For users with visual disabilities, font size, font color, and background colors can be adjusted.

Primary Specifications: 

  • Available for use on Macintosh or IBM and compatible computers.
  • The Macintosh version requires a minimum of 2 megabytes (MB) RAM; System 6.0.7 or higher (including System 7), and 1.5 MB hard drive space.
  • The Windows version requires a 386 SX processor or better (486 recommended), Windows 3.1 or Windows95, a Windows-compatible sound card, a VGA monitor (SVGA recommended), 5 MB hard drive space, and 4 MB RAM for Windows 3.1 or 8 MB RAM for Windows 95.
