The ScanOver (Scanning VoiceOver Switch Interface) is a Bluetooth switch control interface designed to enable individuals with severe physical, motor control, neurological or upper extremity disabilities or spinal cord injury to control an iOS device with a switch.
Main Features:
- It has a speaker and headphone jack, a front panel showing the status of the Bluetooth module inside, and a rear panel for the scanning options.
- The user turns VoiceOver on with a triple click and starts scanning with either Auto-Scan or Step-Scan switch input.
- When VoiceOver gets to a desired VoiceOver compatible app, the user clicks on the switch again and opens that app.
- Scanning stops after a selection.
- ScanOver also works with the iOS keyboard and allows the user to use it as the simpler switch interface with switch-friendly apps.
- Includes a spoken menu with further choices and settings.
- A way into the menu based upon how long the user holds the switch (adjustable from 0.5 to 2 seconds).
- Control over QuickNav, jump (skipping over a specified number of steps), an ability to record menus, and an ability for the user to change any setting.
