Hardware
Controlling a computer requires that the user be able to manipulate the input devices for the computer. for standard computers, this includes a small set of input types:
- Language-based input is commonly done through some type of keyboard, entering a character at a time.
- Many controls, icons, and graphics devices are more easily accessed through the mouse, which can still present barriers to the user.
- Some input, including but not limited to games, is done through some version of a joystick, a "stick" that can be pushed in any direction to control actions on the device.
